Notable upcoming Australian Anime releases

Held over the weekend at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, The Animania Festival played host to amongst other things the Australian World Cosplay Summit candidate selection as well as a swag of Madman new title announcements which include:


Noein - Release scheduled for January 2009 in a complete boxset

School Rumble Season 2 - Release scheduled for early 2009 and will be released in 2 x half season 3 DVD sets.

Tsubasa Chronicle Season 2 - Release starts in November

Claymore - 2009 Release

Lucky Star - To be released starting in January as 2 x 12 episode half season 3 DVD sets


Some definite buys in the coming year, but I can't understand why they're splitting series like that.

I'm not sure if they are making more money if they are splitting series so there are less DVD's to collect
I'm importing the Lucky Star Collectors Sets, so they will be getting more money from me anyway ;-_-

My friend will take undo pleasure in killing me in the most brutal way possible for buying all of Lucky Star on DVD. And I'm glad, cause Lucky Star, like Azumanga Daioh, is awesome for doing absolutely nothing during the episode.

Shameless bump, but when I saw this I got so excited, the local release of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion will be the 12/11/2008. That's the first volume, but I hope we're getting monthly releases of this series instead of bimonthly ones like Death Note.

Also, just in time for Christmas, some great boxsets are coming up:

It will be the English dub yes, and the original Japanese will be on there also.
