Now we all know there is a bunch of Naruto, Bleach and One Piece fans out there. And nearly everyone has watched Death Note by now But what is your favourite anime that doesnt seem to get the credit or the viewing audience that you feel it deserves?
For me its Gungrave, i dont think ive seen this anime mentioned once on this forum and i cannot stress how awesome this anime was. If your a lover of crime movies or you just love anime in general then you should definitely check this out.

Planetes.
It's intelligent, enjoyable and very good. Criminally ignored.
Clannad is one (actually I couldn't think of any, but your avatar and sig reminded me).
I'm very happy that After Story is out now, however I haven't started watching it yet, and won't until the series is complete.
I'd be too impatient, waiting weekly, that said I've other anime I need to watch that I haven't started watching yet.
Though I've a few friends who've seen many series of anime, it's hard for me to think of any they haven't seen that I haven't seen, but I know Clannad is one of them! :p It was a great being able to recommend it to some friends, especially after I had Clannad recommended to me.
Oh and Wilso - I'm guessing that (from your avatar and sig) Tomoyo is your favourite character? If so - *high five* Tomoyo is my favourite character as well! Kotomi is awesome too! (violin <3 :p) But yeah the whole cast in general is awesome!
Also, Sunohara is too good =P

I've been looking at it. Never quite decided to get it. Of what quality is the animation? A lot of anime out there is just poorly done (Get Backers, Speed Grapher, Disgaea are just some examples of sh*tty artwork).

Gungrave gets pretty scrappy at some parts, it's an interesting storyline sure, the whole mobster-instead-of-yakuza gangster world is refreshing, but then it throws a curveball of zombies and such. But yeah, the animation lets it down a great deal, no offence Wilso. Oh, and Gungrave has been noted of a few times on the Recent Anime/Manga You've Seen thread, but that's forgivable considering the size of that thread.

I don't hear enough from people watching/reading Hayate no Gotoku! My overall favourite anime/manga of all time. =P
Ooh, and Candy Boy. An ongoing ONA series, I'd really recommend it. There's the intro ep, 3 normal eps and a prequel kinda ep released so far. Great if you love romantic, school-y kinda comedies. Keeping in mind the romance is sorta between two sisters.
Lesse...also Toradora! I've read the manga/novel so far and the anime has just started airing. But yes, the subbing community is keeping up. So far it's a little quicker pace and it's skipping things, but I'll stick with it.
I watch too much, and can't be bothered listing more. So that'll do. x3

and even here no one mentions Eureka Seven. The series that got me (then afterwards some of my friends) into anime to begin with. I loved it's story, it's characters, it's settings, it's themes, it's animation, it's music and even the voice acting. I watched in dub. I'm just sad to see that most people over look the series.

Except for like 3/4 of the people posting here.
Everyone should watch Outlaw Star.
Well I like those animes not not many others like or have heard of, such as Doki Doki School Hours and Kirarin Revolution.

Also props to mentions of Clannad and Toradora! I also seem to be one of the few people out there who enjoys Galaxy Angels. Season 3 is prob my fav when they brought in the Twin Star team, since they did a good job expressing viewers disbelief at everyone else's stupidity

I thought E7 was pretty popular, hence disqualified from mention. I know it is easy to criticise it, but it is one of the best anime series I've seen in a while.

It's popular? Ok well I've never seen anyone else mention it anywhere. Anyway it seems to me like no one watches it so I was on topic :P

The show is 69 eps long and quite awesome for what it is, although the final story arc is really cut down from the manga (its based on a game show design with 25 separate 'panels' in the manga compared to 9 in the anime (you'll understand when you see it))
I've got the first 4 books which are friggin great though, but I haven't been buying any in ages. Prob will start up again now that I have an income (but right now train fines, psp 3000's and potentially new laptops are of higher priority). I think they are somewhere past book 15 in English these days so check them out.

Cromartie High School. Freddie Mercury is win. Freddy Mercury, gorillas and robots oblivious to the fact they are robots are EPIC win.

Sounds good, will look for it probably never, even though I want to. Damn me.
And do tell regarding train fines, my Tasmanian brain can't comprehend what it could be for at all, so I lol'd.

always gotta shoot me down stubbie :(. The greatness of gungrave imo comes from the way the show involves you in the relationships between the characters and makes you really feel for them. Not neccasarily the plot
Also *hi-5* to bjay for the Tomoyo love and the Saber love (one of my fav female anime characters) Im the opposite to you though, i cant not watch after story knowing its out.

Gintama, Hunter x Hunter, Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro, Hoshin Engi and Vampire Knight are a few series that I don't see mentioned often in these boards.
Gintama - To be added later
Hunter x Hunter (Hunter Hunter) is probably the oldest series among the other series that I mentioned. The series comes from the author Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho. To be finished later
Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro is a detective fiction based around a demon (Neuro Nōgami) who has come from the demon world in order to feeds upon mysteries (literally, they provide him with nourishment). Upon coming to the human world he meets a high school girl by the name of Yako Katsuragi. He forces her to become the front of his detective agency whilst he pulls the strings from behind the curtains as the assistant.
Hoshin Engi, dubbed as Soul Hunter in English speaking countries is a series inspired from an ancient Chinese tale. The series follows the main protagonist, Taikoubou a sennin-in-training as he is enlisted by his superiors to descent from the Sennin world with the task of completing what's known as the Houshin Project. Upon making his way to the human world a bunch of events unfold which ultimately sets Taikoubou off on a journey to liberate China.
Vampire Knight as the title implies, is about Vampires. The series takes place at an academy in which human and vampires co-exist with each other. The plot is centered around a love triangle between a human, vampire and vampire hunter.
I guess I could include Tales of the Abyss and World Destruction (which are two game -> anime adaptations) to the list but they are fairly new so it's understandable that not many people have checked them out.

Inspectors fined me for having my foot on a seat on a train ride home from tafe (was tying my shoe and had my foot up on a seat just to tie it). The thing that pisses me off about it though is that a fine for having your feet on a seat is $167, which is more than the fine for not having a ticket at all!

Yeh BL on that one, ive got a fine atm, didnt pay it. Hoping they'll forget to send me a reminder notice amongst the slew of fines going around atm due to overcrowding of public transport in melbourne and ppl not bothering to pay.

Are you crazy? Yu Yu Hakusho had plenty of fans at the time!
I feel DBZ deserves more credit as it had hardley any fans.

I don't really watch anything obscure, most of the stuff I like is pretty popular. How about Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl? I guess that'd kinda count, and it's cute, though I've only watched the first four episodes or so.

A vandal and a vagrant! Oh man, I must restrain myself from going offtopic... from sh*tting on ticket inspectors... must not sarcastically point out they're never to be found... when they're actually needed, late at night... and dress like morons...
