Somehow there isn't a thread for this already. Anyways I just finished watching the series (part of why I've been away about a week) and well I'm trying to pick a word that defines how awesome it was. I could rant and rave on, and most certainly will, but anyone else want to kickstart things?

The scene with King Kittan is probably the most epic awesome part. You know what I'm talking about.
Anyone who likes mechs, explosions, and an evolving storyline will love this. Now, go watch!

Here's (http://www.tobeasian.com/2007/10/14/7-reasons-to-watch-tengen-toppa-gurren-lagann/) a nice little summary of why it's awesome.

I shall definitely look into it. How long is it?

Its 27 episodes, but progression wise its very fast paced. Normally I'd watch a show of this length over a few weeks but I watched this over a few days and if you were so inclined its marathon-able. And its oh so quotable.

Yeah, I stormed through the episodes when I first saw it also, like a really good novel, you just can't stop.

While it was a good scene, i cant believe they put hip hop to it. It made it seem like an amv. They needed some epic orchestral number to go with it. Just finished it today, sweet anime. Already got my background set to Yoko lol

I'm five episodes in. I have a lot of anime on the go at the moment. It's hard to find time to do anything in my life right now. I have so many movies to watch, anime to watch, TV to watch, games to play, books to read, people to see, work to do, sports to play, drinks to drink, that it usually takes me a while to get around to actually finishing anything.

Having said that, those five episodes have been awesome, and I'll slowly make my way through the series eventually.

When will Madman pick this up?

Once someone like ADV dubs and subs it...

They have. We're just waiting for Madman to acquire the rights.

Oh, well in that case the answer would be; pretty soon I guess. :p

I'd say, in my own limited experience that it's usually a year between the ADV & Madman releases.

*A quick bit of wiki-research suggests that we won't see a local release until mid-'09.

It's pretty awesome. I want an english dub because this is the sort of thing you could easily watch non-stop. I'd hire a movie theater and invite all my friends.

The is only the most epic anime ever.

I shed manly tears at the end.
