So long Good News Week...
Well, Good News Week will be shown at least for a month or two. The writers strike has only just ended, meaning that now the writers will start writing scripts again. Once they write the scripts, the next step is to actually produce the TV shows from the scripts, and that takes at least a little bit of time. Then you've got the delay in shows actually reaching Australia - it tends to take at least a few more weeks.
So yeah, GNW will get a showing, and if it does well enough, perhaps it will become a mainstay, again.

So what was the outcome? What was the agreement reached? Useless article.
Interesting how much shorter this writer's strike was than the last one.

It's about time, but it is shorter then the previous writers strike. An outcome would have been nice...

Well, nothing's been signed yet as far as I'm aware. The announcement was only in time for the late American news (It's still Thursday night on the west coast). But the news is that the studios just caved in and offered the WGA what they wanted.
This is bad. Just about all of those shows that are mentioned in that link are crap.
Bring back REAL TV! No fake reality shows, no crappy dramas with bad acting.

For some reason I just hate Heroes, it annoys me, despite the fact that I watch it. The main thing that I hate is the fact that the writers use it as a way to indoctrinate their viewers into believing the evolutionary view point of existance, but they're also good at making it entertaining and wanting you to want more, so I keep watching it but cringe every time I hear Dr Saresh's "enlightened thoughts and theories" in the voiceover.
Lost, well im just so glad that the strike is over, hopefully they'll be able to at least get 2-3 episodes done before the 8 complete episodes are aired, I wish they would make a full season of 23-24 episodes, I don't care if theres 1 or 2 boring episodes in that lot, its still interesting and season 3 had some awesome side stories after it got over the first 6 (and in my opinion the most boring) episodes.
24 Seas. 7: well im a new comer to the series and im watching s. 6 at the moment so im almost caught up and I love this show so much, pretty much ties with Lost, and I only started watching last year, but its so thrilling and entertaining, so im glad that the rest of the 24 seas.7 eps can be made finally, I was getting worried, don't know if ill watch it with tv or wait 'till the seas's end and buy it on dvd and watch 2-3 eps per week till im through the season. Probo wont, but im just heaps not used to not having 24 on demand after having watched every other season on dvd or vhs box set.
Priso Break: Yeh awesome 'bout this coming back and coming home to 7, loved it, it outrates Heroes anyday, infact I would support a move of all heroes staff (writers, cameramen and other producers and so on) to the working on of the rest of PB seas. 3. But ofcourse they are produced by rival networks over in the american mainland, so it wont happen.
Overall Heroes sucks, LOST, 24 and PB are awesome. But I still watch heroes because its entertaining, a lot like Today tonight is the first 5 times you watch it, after that it starts to repeat itself.

If this is related to any of channel 7's crappy programs I hope they continue the strike forever I can't help but feel the overall storylines are similiar and the way they push them of an advertisment basement are much too similiar as well, with the change of a different theme!

YES! Prison Break, Lost and Heroes can continue :D HOORAY!!!
Thing is, during this strike, there's no good Aussie serial shows to hold us in until it's over. That's why this strike pissed us all off.

This is the not the end of the strike. It is the beginning of the end.
WHat I have read is that the negotiators have got a deal and both sides agree. The WGA will vote on the deal on Saturday. Then the deal has be made made formal - the contract needs to be written up and signed by both parties.
Then once the writers are able to go back to work (depends on when the WGA lets them. Maybe Monday if the deal is accepted, or once the ink is dry on the paper), it will be about 6 weeks before single camera shows have new episodes.
Sitcoms and multiple camera shows will be quicker and new episodes should be ready in a few weeks.
But the networks have yet to make up their minds on whether or not they will continue making shows for this season or get ready for next season.

No shows will have a full season this year. The best you can hope for is that the networks decide to have the shows continue into the american summer.

Lost will still have a full season though, coz this season plus the rest are meant to be shorter than normal anyway.

I was torn over this writer's strike.
On one hand it was awesome seeing the TV companies squirm and I support all forms of industrial action. On the other hand a lot of these people didn't deserve to have jobs, being respoinsible for many of the worst moments, of television history. I mean the Late Show guys went on strike, as if they deserve more money.

How the hell do they manage to script a talk show? I mean, sure you might decide on a few points to talk about, but do they really need writers?

For me: Heroes, House
For my Mum: Heroes, House, Grey's Anatomy
I like Heroes/House. Also I just read further down and REAPER!! Awesome. Also Scrubs. I'm sure I'd like Lost if I started watching it, but I never make the time.
Anyway, good news for me.

False.
16 episodes is the intended shortened season - Lost will only get 12-14 this season, should everything go according to plan.

its good to see that the strike is over, and the list was very helpful cause i was unsure what shows affected. (happy that weeds, dexter and entourage were unaffected.) also happy that pb, lost and heroes are safe even though i feel pb and heroes are in a bit of a slump. lets hope now the writers got their way they produce some good writing for heroes especially.
I never knew when to show this because I thought it would be outdated but I found this comic a month ago. And had a good laugh.... poor Sonic though.

Heroes not back till September at earliest! REJOICE!

In related news about sucky poorly written shows that we all get suckered into watching weekly when we know the writers could actually do 20 times better (and have in the past), 24 won't be back till 09 :(
