Question for Smoko/Wii "modders"

Hey guys, i was reading an interview from GDC on ign.com

Basically, for wii-ware developers can make whatever wii-ware games they want aslong as the ESRB rates it (America's version fo the OFLC).

I was thinking along the lines of the mod (or whatever word you want to call it) with the Zelda game save.


Would this not help with a software booter or something? IF somehow, some guys can get a hold of a wii-ware "dev" kit so to speak.

Surely that would give out all the information that is needed?

I could be completely mistaken, just thought i would ask.

There has already been an official Wii devkit leaked.

I'm not sure if it will help them with figuring out much about how the Wii works, but I can't see anything developed with it being released. They would prefer to continue porting their own GameCube SDK over to the Wii so things can be released openly instead of through IRC and FTP servers like the Xbox.
