There is some great music out there from every genre, but most of us will never get to hear it. This thread is for those bands who you think deserve some recognition, regardless of genre, and who have a myspace with some songs to check out.

Genre: Progressive/Power Metal
Sounds like: Symphony X, Adagio, Dream Theater
Comment: The first Tunisian band to ever be picked up by a record label, metal or otherwise.

Genre: Alternative/Metal
Sounds like: -------
Comment: There's a reason these guys got picked to support Lamb of God and Stone Sour, nice mix of heavy and lighter stuff too.

Band: Many Machines On Nine (mm9)
Genre: Electro/Metal
Sounds like: strangely enough like Korn in places, think not particularly heavy metal mixed with electronica.

Sounds like: Devo, At The Drive In
Comment: much better than that Tv Rock crap would suggest, very random band but entertaining to watch live.

Genre: Alternative / Comedy / Experimental
Sounds like: a decent band for high school kids
Comment: heard these guys on the radio and had some pretty decent and interesting sounding stuff

Sounds Like: Tenacious D (But clean) and just a general solo acoustic guy >_>
Comment: I found this guy on Youtube, he's REALLY talented. Great composer and singer.

Genre: Folk/Acoustic/Metal
Sounds Like: latin guitar with metal stylings
Comment: most of the music is just the two guitars, the percussive sound is actually a few unusual guitar techniques. check out their song tamacun, along with their versions of orion and stairway to heaven if nothing else. touring at the moment.

this guy is a great rapper, one of Australia (and the world's) best to be honest.

There is swearing, but it's epic, his new song is great, can't wait for the album.

Sounds like: If pirates had a wall of Marshalls.
Comment: yes. This band is 'pirate metal'. Sounds damn cool. Definately worth a listen. i want to get drunk to this band.

Sounds like: Very hard to describe but uses alot of piano in it with some good funky type beats, No Vocals just the music
Comment: Its pretty interesting, definetly worth a listen , there are some nice beats here
