Who enjoys writing poetry? I don't, since I find it incredibly boring.
However, I do enjoy reading it. So post your creations here. Either that, or post something about how much you hate poetry or some other worthless comment.

I can't stand poetry, I can't understand why we have to learn it, and the poetic devices.

Ironically, I have a poetry anthology due tomorrow and I just finshed it.

Then post them. Except for your limericks, of course. They'll be terrible.

Shine the light of peace
In the vast black sea of nothingness
She fights for hope and love
The Galactic Federation's plan
Is to see the orange dove
But there stands a race, so vile and dark
They killed them all but one
To kill the Pirates, she must persist
Unil the dead is done
Etched with armour from ancient times
A race no longer here
And arm cannon with fire eternal
No being she does not fear
The Dark, it comes, corrupting all
Peace is nothing but stark
In space, it ends; the final war
A war of light and dark
This Hunter; Messenger of peace
Struggle forever barren
Her identity ne'er fade
Name: Samus Aran
Machine, or Monster?
Gunned down on Zebes
by the dreaded Hunter
He was not given a chance
It was like that of a punter
As workers bustled about
to revive their lost superior
It was implanted that Ridley
was to be given an exterioir
And reborn an assault machine
Ridley was alive!
Not a single interferance
was to be left to strive
And with that he flew
Beconed a new name
Meta-Ridley he was called
and revenge was his game
If ya want more Metroid poems, I'd be happy to make some up. Quite easy for me really...
Top one hasn't seen the internet, so be thankful. Second one has been posted, like, twice. Got no reponses...

Poetry is nice in the right places, I'm not very good at it myself.

Right places? Care to elaborate?

i would have thought that if he'd care to elaborate, he'd have done so.

Unfortunately, I don't care what you would of thought. I want to hear his opinion. Or yours, if you would like to give it.

You can't really read poetry on a bus. Or on a plane.
It's really there to be read at 'appropriate' times.
And I kinda agree with DkW. If TSP wanted to elaborate, he would have. But poetry obviously isn't his big field, so he won't.

I was asking what he referring to by the term "right places". I for one, cannot see why that is such a problem.

heres some I wrote recently
Eyes Wide Shut
I'm not suppost to be scared of anything, but I dont know where I am.
I wish that I could move, but I'm exhausted, and nobody understands.
Im trying hard to breathe now, but there's no air in my lungs.
Theres noone here to talk to, and the pain inside is making me numb.
My eyes are open, the light is blinding me, but its more then just white for colours do I see.
A world unlike my own lies just outside my door, to see it all I must first get up off the floor.
I can see clearly now my eyes arnt shut.
Am I seeing the world for what it is or have I lost my nut.
This is real, my life is not a dream.
Surely the world is not this crazy things cant be what they seam.
Corpses everywhere, babies crying in the wake.
I close my eyes for this is more than I can take
I cannot live in a world without fun.
Give me one bullet in a loaded gun.
If most the world was glad.
Some would still be sad.
You could take away the pain.
but that would leave me insane.
Kill me now and wake me from this dream.
Unless things really are what they seem.
What happened to the tranquil blue seas.
Wont someone end this now? Please?
This just wont do, its far too late
The earth is dead we cant just wipe the slate
Not long now and it will all be gone
The young, the old and those yet to be born.
I still sit here with my eyes wide shut
I tried to warn you but you thought I was a nut.
Sounds kinda emo i know but meh
2nd one (and last for now)
Heartaches and Heartbreaks
People come and people go
but there is only one thing I want to know
they say there are plenty of fish in the sea
but is she the right girl for me
Id ask myself but I nolonger sure
Is this a dream or something more
a single smile makes my heart flutter
and thoughts of her turn my legs to butter
I fear my feelings will be missunderstood
and that Ill lose her for good
do I risk it and take a chance
or do I prepare a runners stance
for her to understand how I feel
why, that would be ideal
if alas its not to be
what will happen to me
can I survive that pain agian
and if not what then?
I'll do it no matter the stakes
and smile through the
Heartaches and Heartbreaks

My life is a void;
like someone called Loyd;
The end of it;
Like a pile of shit;
A hook, a gun;
so much fun;
Jesus, it's me;
open up maget;

I can't stand poetry, I can't understand why we have to learn it, and the poetic devices.
It's more about learning how to articulate yourself in a artistic matter in opposition to 'it was very, very, very big lol'.
