The Society for Electronic Entertainment (SEE) is a recently established club at Melbourne Uni which is dedicated to gaming of all forms.

Basically what we do is just play all sorts of games, from console to handheld to PC, every Tuesday afternoon 2:00PM - 5:00PM.

The club started off Nintendo-centric, and still is to an extent, yet there are no console/system barriers and anyone is welcome to attend and bring along a few games / even systems as well to contribute to the togetherness promoted by gaming.

Currently we've been holding sessions of Super Smash Bros. Melee, with four player mayhem going all throughout the afternoon, this Tuesday someone brought in a Jap copy of Brawl as well as a Jap Wii, and the gang were at it for all afternoon (spoilers galore obviously so those who didn't want to ruin the game for themselves stepped out, including myself).

Most likely the next few weeks will see a greater variety of multi-player games in the specific lecture theatres, yet the favourites such as Melee and Mario Kart 64 will usually run. Those with DSs are always in the plentiful, and MKDS / Tetris / MPH sessions are frequent. So DS holders are encouraged to bring them along. Xboxs / 360s / PSs also frequent the club meetings, so feel free to drop in regardless of which system you play.

Timings for every week will be the same, yet venues will be rotating around between certain lecture theatres due to being unable to book the same lecture theatre weekly. Unless otherwise notified, SEE will be gaming at Level 6 of the Architecture Building.

Stay tuned to this thread for Lecture Theatre locations and Club events - as well as Membership details and club benefits.

I remember playing SSBM at Manifest, which if I remember correctly was held in September at Melbourne Uni also.

Too bad I can't make it on Tuesdays. I might be going to manifest with my school this year :D

Anway, is there alot of people or is it a small crowd?

Quite a lot of people. On average about 20 people turn up every week - Level 6 of Architecture sports some very nice AV technology, and there is plenty of room as well; 2 medium sized rooms on either side of a much larger room, each divided with soundproof separators and each with their own projectors.

We've recently been given food grants from the Union as well, so now there is also free food about while gaming.

This is shaping up to be more and more like a little bit of gamers' heaven - yet that won't be fulfilled until we can get some couches and bean bags there.

Even if you're not part of the Uni, or if you just happen to be in the city on the Tuesday afternoons, drop in and SEE for yourself.

drop in and SEE for yourself.

AHOHOHOHOHO, good one.

I popped into your irc channel for a while and caused some mischief. Unfortunately they didn't know you as Bhaskar24 :<

So I rearranged their lawn ornaments into non-politically correct positions.
