I recently overclocked my GeForce MX440 to play black hawk down (that's right, i have to overclock my comp to play a 2003 game on LOW SETTINGS) and it has started to 'hang up' (freeze for 5-10 seconds) occasionally. This is bad y/n?

It's not ideal....

Does your comp still lock up if you take the O/C off?

might not be frying, it may be overclocked to far and its gpu is dropping process requests. Thus it's locking up.

The MX440 is a rubbish video card anyway; just a rebadged Geforce 2. Spend $50 or so on something that'll destroy your old video card.

wtf? i know it's a piece of shit but why would i want to destroy it? then i can't watch movies or play games at all

Uh... get a 6200 for $20 or something. Seriously, it'll wipe the floor with your card.

He didn't mean literally when he said destroy. He meant it would "blow it out of the water" or "wipe the floor with it" as in outperform it, make it redundant (not that it already isn't).

Yeah, what TSP said. I used to have one back in my non-computer-hardware-literate days, and I couldn't play POP: Sands of Time because the card didn't support Pixel Shader 1.1 :(

I cant even run KOTOR on high settings, and i can't run Kotor 2 at all, even on low, even with everything turned off. Having a dumb graphics card sucks real bad.
