As for the boxset reorder, its a very nice gesture on their behalf. Is it just reordering the episodes for the sake of convenience or are there any content differences. Plus is there any explaination to why the airing order is different from the DVD order?

Its all for convenience as far as I know, save you swapping around the discs all the time and to watch the show in the order intended by it's makers. I think its a two-DVD set or something, anyway, they should be sending them out later his month or the month after, so I'll let you know if you like.

Does something like a mixed episode order actually need explaining? I say it was just to make the series even more random than it normally is, and to encourage people to watch the series more than once (watch in it's original aired order first, then watch it in chronological order and you'll pick up quite a few things for extra lulz)

lets see, it has multiple meanings depending on who is looking at it:

1) the jumbled up order could be the selling point, I showed her what i was about to send (the message you called me smartypants for which i thank you for the complement btw) and she said that was the main reason she liked the series...

2) It could also be explained in the exact same way that makes FLCL make sense: It represents the craziness of adolesence (sp?)

3) Kyon himself also states that crazy things keep happening around him, maybe including even the episodes order.

4) Haruhi lists the chronological order of the episodes (in japan) and Kyon lists the air'd order in Japan, this may be a reference to how weird Haruhi is (as her numbers seem strange at first) as to Kyon's order who seems to tell the correct order until you realize it, this also helps balance out what Itsuki says in erm... episode... erm... one of the ones on the second disc, when he says that Haruhi wants to meet and see things like alians, espers, and time travelers but has enough common sense to know they don't exist... in this way, you see how she wants them to exist but once you realize that it is the actual order, you can see the part of her that has common sense and it makes Kyon look crazy.

Oh yeah, I guess ince they do acknowledge the alternate order int he show it might've possibly be done on purpose. If it was out of order to simulate the chaos of adolescence then they didn't do a very good job but whatever.

Yeah it sorta was huh, there were lots of moments where there was just nothing going on either.

But watching it, I felt that it was very unfinished (obviously there's gonna be another season) and I'm glad there will be another season.

Well, I'm happy that Lucky Star is out on DVD now. (This is half relevent, the guy who directed it is directing Haruhi Season 2 and the first 4 episodes were the guy who directed and scripted much of Season 1)

An excursion to the new Kyoto Animation studio

|Kuroi-san And The Ladder|
Kuroi-san - a talisman-cat - also moved to the new studio. And now it is looking from the window on the ladder. Wallpaper arts here are: the sky and the cat paws. Looks like it really loved it.

And this is a spiral ladder that connects the first and the third floor. Here are some funny wallpapers with flowers. Furthermore, there is an elevator not far.

This is the photo from the 3rd floor, here is the managment's office. There are many different materials including the "Kyoanibon" on the book shelf. There is a conference hall not far including the place for the tatami. Before the conference you should surely eat tightly!

Ishihara & Takyemoto are sitting near each other. New studio windows are made from the extensible partitions - this is really comfortable. Ishihara says, that "Direct sunlights that flows at the room are very important."

A beautiful view opens from the rooftop - there are many small houses in Kyoto. And also here is a really nice place to watch at the fireworks.

From the first hands! Changes in characters!

With the appearing of the new season Ikieda Seko has painted the conceptions of some changes in characters design that opened now for all. Of course, you can feel a progress in the face expressions of the main heroes.

|Kunikida|
Kunikida is the Kyon's classmate at the present moment (he was his classmate from the beginng). As whole, he became a more attractive person. He looked attractive too some time ago, but now his attractivness has upped some times.

|Asakura Reiko|
Asakura Reiko has dissapeared in the previous season... so why she is here again ? Maybe they have returned her because fans wanted that ? "Maybe, but we can't say all details to you now " - says Ishira. So, we get it.

|Koizumi Itsuki|
"He became a bit younger and looks like a teenager now," - says Takyemoto. "We tryed to make his image like Ono Daiske's plays him. It's interesting, maybe, Ikeda used an Ono-san's photo ?" - says Ishihara.

Slightly changed the face lines - Mikuru looks more attractive now. " We haven't change alot in the female characters. Artists made only some small changes at the face edges. Two years of practice hasn't passed without notice." - says Takyemoto.

Lipsyncing; I think that's pretty clear, because the singing is in perfect tone, with very controlled breathing. The H-dance is obviously physically demanding so it would be difficult to have both pitch perfect vocals and a good dance performance. I find it pretty easy to forgive them ; P.

I'm currently getting the Hitsuji release of this show to see what the buzz is all about and what they've done with it is quite simply fantastic. Want airing order? No problem. DVD order, chronological order, with our without endings? Just as easy. You get all the perks of ffdshow as well. And it'll all eventually be burned to one DVD. If they sold anime series on one disc with all these features I'd be all over it, but as it stands the pirate version is better because it just works as opposed to all the disc swapping and forced watching of company logos DVDs force upon me.

you have me intruiged tsp, how much is this hitsuji release? and is it easy to obtain?

I don't think I was clear. I downloaded it. But even if I buy the DVDs I'd still watch the Hitsuji ones as they are just far more convenient.

Oh I like to have the official product, its just that the official product is very inconvenient. When I want to watch an series I usually rip the whole boxset to my HDD and watch it from there. If I downloaded it before buying it I'll sometimes stick with the downloaded version for the sake of convenience.
