Favourite Anime Character?

We all have favourites, several definitely, maybe heaps, but if you had to choose one favourite of each gender out of all the Animes you've ever watched, which characters would they be? State what Anime they're from too.

Also, are you the type that has a favourite, but then a new favourite just becomes your favourite, and repeat? :P Happens for me quite a bit!

It's too hard to choose, at this point in time I'm going to go with:

Nothing wrong with Mandy Moore at all. It just seemed an odd choice. She is fairly spunky, so it all works out in the end.

I have to say it's Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

I mean, what a character! Just like every other member of the bebop, Spike is subtly built up and splashes of dialogue, flashbacks and his actions all add up to a superbly crafted character who is shown to the audience, not spelt out to them.

Plus he's got awesome hair, fancy martial arts and voiced by Steven Blum :P!
