View Full Version : System tray and task manager not working HELP

for some strange reason my system tray seems to be frozen or something and i cant get it to work...also, my task manager will not show...i press ctrl+alt+del and nothing!
im completely stumped and have no idea what caused it :cry:

Try restarting the computer first. Is this an ongoing problem, or only happened today? And if it's recent, it may be due to some software you recently installed.
Try this: Unlock your taskbar and then drag it over to the side (or top). Then drag it back down to the bottom and see if that fixes it from being frozen.

ive restarted and tried a system restore
i moved a game from my portable hardrive onto the comp today and it started after the resolution change. ive tried changing resolutions back and forth and nothing

I don't think chair compatibility is an issue here, monkeyman.
try holding your tounge more to the left, and kick your right foot slightly to the side.
then uninstall/reinstall your video drivers and try that

I had this issue for a while with my old computer. Want to know how I fixed it?
I got a new computer.
Most likely it's caused by too many viruses and spywares all trying to work at once while you download from limewire and install 'free' cursors from the internet.

I don't think chair compatibility is an issue here, monkeyman.
Neither is it a monitor issue.

Can you post a list of running processes?
CTRL+ALT+DEL will open the window and just ALT+PrintScreen the Process tab.

The OP said that he can't open Task Manager.

thanks for the help everyone, managed to get it working though :]
i had log into someone elses account on this mp to run a virus and spybot scan and it appears to be working ok now
