Hey guys,
I just found this site. I trade quite a lot at a few other sites such as Hyperactive and PALGN, and hope to start doing so here as well.
Introductions aside, what I'm after is a PAL SNES console that has had the 60Hz modification done to it so that I can play my existing games black border free (I recently bought one from eBay, but it was faulty, I had to get a refund, etc, etc, grrrr.). I only need the console itself but if you want to get rid of all the leads as well I'll take them too.
Drop a line if you have one and we'll sort out a price to make you happy :p
Cheers

I have an SNES but i didn't think you could make a 60Hz mod to it.
I might look into it further to do it on my one.

Yeah I had the mod done on my original SNES (which I sold years ago) at a store back in 1995. A bit of soldering work is done on the chipsets on the motherboard and it's connected to an external flipswitch which is installed on the outside of the SNES. You can flick the switch even during gameplay to change the console's signal from 50Hz to 60Hz.
It cost about $50 for the mod back in the day, but is much cheaper if you do it yourself (I don't trust myself, hence why I'm trying to buy a pre-modded console). Once you go 60Hz on the SNES, 50Hz seems second rate and almost unplayable, to boot.

Just how far back was "Back in the Day"?

This is what he's talking about.
Mines not for sale, sorry.
I got mine done in a little shop next to Campsie station in 1995.
The guys name was Jar, I kid you not.
I'm intrigued. Did the 60Hz make the game's visuals update quicker on your screen, or was the gameplay actually faster as well?

xParad0Xx, the thing on top isn't what's making it 60hz, it must be something else.
It's like a tiny bit of soldering for it to work at 60hz.
I've done it, I have 2 of them like this, one of them is region free too, broke 2 SNES' doing it though.
Edit:
http://www.gamesx.com/importmod/snes5060.htm - Not how I did it, should work though.

Did you want to sell or trade one of yours? :)
I could pay you $$$ or trade for 360 games, DS games, PS2 games, Cube games or a Cube console

EDIT: I've found one. Also has a modified cartridge slot which makes it completely multi-region, all at 60Hz :P
