Whenever I read a manga of an anime I always seem to prefer it over the actual anime.
Even if I watch the anime first, such as One Piece I found the manga was more enjoyable.

Anybody else think the same way?

I prefer the Bleach Manga more. I've only got one volume (I ordered the second one three weeks ago, they come from the USA. Hopefully picking it up tomorrow) but I found it better than the show, if slightly. It just felt more relaxing, I suppose.

I prefer the better one. For some things the manga is better and for others the anime.

Manga is easier for me a lot of the time (Yarr, is true matey)

Though for something more action oriented, I'll watch the anime.

I've never got the appeal of manga. It's anime all the way for me.

I don't read a lot of manga, but I much prefer the manga over the anime for Bleach, Eyeshield 21 and Death Note.

I prefer the anime versions of Welcome to the NHK and Naruto, but I only read the first few volumes of Naruto.

There was a truly horrible manga adaptation of FLCL I read as well.... It wasn't even close to matching the greatness of the anime it was based on.

Manga generally has less filler, which is a major plus. But manga based on anime, and not the other way around, usually blows, so it's tough sometimes. I usually watch both. At the moment, I'm ahead of the Bleach series by a while because I read the manga. But if I had to choose, I'd go manga.

Some shows just make the transition from manga to anime so well it is hard to go back to comic panels (such as Deathnote)

However, series with more NSFW content feel censored when moved to the anime market. Sometimes you just want to see a million panties in a shot, but unless you are watching that one scene in Evangelion or the episode 4 of Chobits you will be lacking panties!!!

Personally, I like manga more. Mainly because a manga usually get more in depth, and is easier to create quality art for. It is expensive though, especially here in Australand.

I believe that the One Piece and Naruto manga series' are better then the anime. Why? I don't really know XD

I prefer the anime, I can't seem to make out scenes with battles in them in manga, and often I am not sure what I am looking at, with a closeup and things being at obscure angles.

Online...wink wink nudge nudge...

Anyway manga goes into a bit more depth in terms of story.
The Hikaru no Go manga felt a bit more into story and the anime was more into the actual go games.
It meant you could read the manga without knowing a thing about go.

Same with Yu-Gi-Oh GX as well.
Apart from the actual duels the story felt good.

100% Manga over Anime... most of the time... unless the anime doesnt have a manga series, or the manga is based off of the anime...

Manga, definitely. Manga prices are horrendous though, one book can cost the same as its DVD counterpart. Too bad I hate reading them off a computer screen. :(

Hear hear. I have never bought manga, just due to the price, so I loan all my stuff from the library. Hate reading from a computer screen too.

I only hate it when you can't blow it up to a reasonable size.

As for expensive, perhaps but its below $20 per (that i've found) and discs are generally at least $25ea unless u buy the box...

Overall, i'd say depends one the series, as whatever medium was first is generally better, thou if i had the choice, i'd go anime.

I may be a noob to the genre, but thats my pick & i'm sticking with it.

I prefer the anime because I like just downloading it, where for the manga I have to load each page which gets annoying.

Depends on the series. I think it's a bit stupid to say one is definately better than the other.

Jesus Christ! Someone else who actually enjoys One Piece! How come no one in my school likes One Piece? Everyone is so obsessed with Naruto.

Anyway, I usually watch the anime whenever theres a fight scene or I'm too lazy to read, otherwise its manga for me.

Fighting is so much better in anime than manga.

Don't deny it.

I prefer anime. I'd prefer light novels over all, unfortunately they come to few.

I guess manga doesn't work for me, with anime, I see a moving world, breathing and can see whats happening, with reading a book, I envision it, make it up myself based on whats told, Manga, I just dont see it in my mind.

I prefer anime to manga. I find the 'Japanese reading style' rather strange and hard to get used to. :? I also prefer to sit down and watch a show rather than reading a book. I've never really been into books.

one piece i really did like... dont know why... didnt like 4 kids voices though

bleach... i never understood... nothing more than an generic manga/anime... ive seen better stories in games and honestly
they were more enjoyable... bleach is epic ph41l

deathnote... ive liked since it originally came out... once i read the manga preview in shonen jump a few years back... i started to collect it... i started everyone at my school on it... i regret it too -_- i love deathnote too... i wanted the person who lost to win (therefore there are no spoilers to whoever still hasnt read it... dumbasses)

I like both equally I usually read a Manga and then the Anime follows.
It's also good to note Manga and such has no fillers and reading through the Manga means you get the story the way the artist initially wanted it to be.
But over all I love both equally.
Manga for a more shorter filler less and accurate story with great art and a cheaper price point
Anime for the great action sequences and amazing art style also.
It's so hard to choose.

._. I hope by that you meant that there's a bunch of other Anime that I've yet to discover (which is of course, true ^_^)

Rather than vaguely implying I've never heard of Bleach or Death Note ._.
