This is a thread where you can post savings on Anime Merchandise such DVD's or figres so members can round off their collection with some nice bargains because as we all know Anime DVD's are much to over priced.
I'll Start off
DBZ Seasons 1 & 2 Remastered for $35-40 in Ezy DVD
Naruto Collection one (Eps 1-13) $19.95 (This just came out this week) From JB's
Naruto Movie $17.95 from Ezy DVD
Hellsing the origional 3 volumes $18 each from JB Hi-Fi
Thats all I can think of.

I think Ezy DVD's price for Love Hina Box Set (Preorder) is real cheap! Its basically $10 per DVD

I know that JB Belco has random anime discs for $10 ea, but they didnt seem to have more than one of a series, so i didnt bother.

Just to add onto this, the JB's I went to last week had those boxes with a vol.1 dvd (which normally cost something closer to $40) in those $10 bins. Stuff like FMA, Negima etc. so maybe if you just want to start off a series without buying the whole thing in one big bang. Or maybe you just want the box for your already complete collection, I dunno.

Yeah, seems to include boxsets too. Better get in quick. I went to my local JB in the hopes of picking up the Shana series and the anime section was filled with fat goths sweating up the joint.
I had to slowly back out of the store and never look back.

Is this Madman JB discount nationwide? I'd love some more info, because the JB online store is different to in-store.
If it is nationwide, and is still on, then I might go pick up the BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad DVDs for the (relatively) cheap. Also, I just realised it must be for boxsets too - in that case, Planetes here I come!

I managed to find the Neon Genisis Evangelion collection (no box though) for $50, and the entire series of Excel Saga for $40 at a pawn shop in Gosford. They had Love Hina too, but I'm still undecided as to wether or not i'll get it.
Does anyone know how long the JB Madman discount is on for?

I heard the JB sale is on till early June, but I've noticed that they've changed the terms and conditions and the sale items now also exclude April and May releases.
I've only bought the Planetes box set so far. There's a few old boxsets that I wouldn't mind getting, but none of the JBs had them in stock before the sale, so I doubt I'm going to find them now anyway :P
I still have a heap of discs from the Madman site $10 sale that I still haven't watch yet anyway :(

I know. I use them in the colloquial sense, not literal. Because if it's a 50% sale, and I use "quid" literally, it no longer becomes a 50% sale. ;)
Noooo, the Planetes boxset was already gone by the time I visited the one and only JB in my state... :(
But instead, I purchased Cromartie High School Box Set, the SAC 2nd Gig Bozset and the SAC: Laughing Man feature film (seeing as though they didn't have the first SAC series, I just purchased the film instead...). A pretty good purchase, I thought, about $105 in all.
Are there any other highly recommended, maybe a little under-rated (hence, un-bought as most of the big title box sets: Bebop, Evangelion etc. were all gone), that is available from the majority of JBs?
Great sale, by the way.

Well, looks like the 50% anime sale has prematurely ended. I was reading on another forum (a post written by a Madman staff member) that the reason was something along the lines of JBs stuffing up and selling the wrong items for 50% off and Madman had to get them to stop the sale.

By my calculations I've spent $2433.28 on anime this year, not including figures and the like which'd most likely double that amount (at least). And hell, I've still got two and half months to go...
That's not a yearly average mind you, this would be my most expensive year of anime buying yet.

I spent about $1000 at manifest, and about $500 on manga, $500 on figurines, $200 on anime but this includes all the stuff my sister bought too. So we have two income sources... =D

That's probably the biggest inconsistency there is with Figma, that damn plughole. It seems like 1 in 3 Figma suffer from it. I just get a sharp, pointy knife and make the hole bigger, works fine and if you're careful, it won't ruin the figure in any way either. Only got 15 of these so far, with another 10 on the way/pre-ordered, what can I say, I'm trying to catch 'em all!

I kind of made the back of my Yuki ugly by trying to make the hole bigger, so I made sure not to screw up my Yuki- Bad Witch version. The whole was too small again so I soaked her in hot water and it worked somehow. Yes, the internets knows all.

The problem with the upcoming releases of Ryouko Asakura and Tsuruya-san is that they each come with separate heads forTaniguchi and Emiri Kimidori respectively. These heads can therefore only be put on existing Figma (Kyon and Tsuruya-san), which means you can't get a full cast )at once) unless you buy extras... ah well.
And yes, hot water is your friend, as long as they're not in there for too long! ;)

It is a store that sells books mainly, it has a wide range of manga, and it also sells dvds, including alot of anime dvds.
I got that 40% off Boxset thing, but the Borders near me only had Love Hina, and something else I was told was very average. So I bought Firefly complete series for $26.
And also bought 3 Full Metal Alchemist mangas at 25% off, thanks to discounts on receipts.
Haruhi Boxset comes out 12th November....Need.... now.

Average isn't the way to describe Love Hina, more just that a lot more better stuff has come since this series. These days its rather 'hit or miss' (but to most people its still 'hit')

I've got Love Hina. I really like it, but then again I've read all the manga.
I ended up buying "Area 88" from JB Hi-fi for $32. It's not a bad anime, only 12 episodes. All about fighter jets and the like.

And here (http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?method=browse&sortKey=3&saleId=39&webChannelId=1) is the complete list, something to definitely look into if you missed the sale.
Is it still a valid sale, or does it just link to their catalogue, because it appears the sales still on...
