Iwata: So Aonuma-san about this timeline that our fans love to keep speculating about…




Aonuma: Ah yes! Just recently we’ve come up with a master timeline document which ties all of Link’s adventures together.




Miyamoto: Yes, I too know it well.




Iwata: Ooh I’m very interested! Care to explain it Aonuma-san?




Aonuma: Well I happily would, but it was Miyamoto-san’s idea….




Miyamoto: I’ve recently finished watching a Western TV show called ‘LOST’. It's about a group of survivors from a plane crash that become stranded on a remote island, home to a lot of strange and sometimes paranormal happenings. I don’t want to spoil much but its final episode reveals everyone is simply in a state of purgatory and everything that happened on the island were really just funny illusions!




Miyamoto: We have taken this exact template and applied to The Legend of Zelda. Link is simply experiencing a different illusion every time he’s on an adventure. We could arrange the titles anywhere on a timeline and it would always make sense! We could throw in the idea that Link simply wakes up from dream after dream!




Iwata: (laughs)




Miyamoto: It’s no laughing matter, I think it’s pure genius!




Iwata: If this document ever gets out, I’ll light both of you on fire and shove you down a fucking hatch.

11. 	I would have laughed, but the problem is that it's wrong. Everything that happened on LOST was real except for the alternate-reality. Anybody who didn't only watch the first season and last episode of season 6 might actually get that, eheh...
