![]() ![]() Welcome to this weeks installment of Nintendo Shop Updates, eight new titles are available today on the Virtual Console, WiiWare and DSiWare. Title: Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias System: WiiWare Price: 1000 Nintendo Points LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias follows on from the best selling. award-winning WiiWare launch title LostWinds. Enril the wind spirit again protects and guides the young boy Toku, powering his jumps, aiding his glides and smashing his enemies. An evil adversary binds the fate of Toku's mother Magdi and the ancient Melodia civilization. To save Magdi, Toku and Enril must face new foes, enlist friends old and new, and wield incredible new powers - including the ability to switch the very Seasons themselves - as they explore the diverse, richly interactive Chilling Peaks and Melodia City areas of the magical, stunningly presented land of Mistralis. This enchanting, exhilarating, explorative gameplay experience is bursting with new ideas that make exceptional use of the Wii's controller, and offers quality matching the very best Wii disc games. The awesome power of the wind is back in the palm of your hands. Better late then never. Title: Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 - Lair of the Leviathan System: WiiWare Price: 1000 Nintendo Points In the third Tales of Monkey Island chapter, Guybrush gets in deep (literally!) as his quest for the voodoo exfoliating La Esponja Grande takes a scenic twist through the guts of a giant manatee! This time our hero encounters a surprising band of castaways, including the long-lost explorer Coronado De Cava. Can the Mighty Pirate win the suspicious De Cava's trust? Will sexy pirate hunter Morgan LeFlay prove to be a ruthless enemy or an unlikely ally? Will the group find La Esponja Grande in time to save Elaine from the rampant Pox of LeChuck? And will the world be crushed by the gnashing teeth of a certain demonic skull? Tales of Monkey Island's moist and absorbing third episode, Lair of the Leviathan, will answer some of these urgent questions and raise even more as the five month adventure builds to its epic climax! Be sure to start with the first chapter if you already haven't or you'll miss vital plot, oh and the audio and visual issues from the last two chapters still remains. Title: Manic Monkey Mayhem System: WiiWare Price: 1000 Nintendo Points As with most fights nobody really knows where, how and when this rivalry started, but this group of monkeys have not stopped battling for as long as they can remember. Their chosen fighting style is the ancient art of Banana Flinging and although their manic screams of rage may insinuate uncontrolled anger, they are in fact highly accurate and adept banana flingers. Now sworn enemies, this band of angry apes is each determined to outlast the other in a furious contest of fruity war. Controlling one of eight monkeys you will to do battle with up to seven others across eight different themed landscapes. In single player, battle through three increasingly difficult campaigns of missions ranging from survival or coconut fights or have a one off battle against the clock, as a team or a standard death match. Nintendo sure are trying to make my new posting job harder, eight titles in one week? This must be like a record or something.
Well we should have really gotten LostWinds a few weeks ago when it was released in Europe. |

Despite the bizarre delay from the European release, it's great to see that LostWinds 2 is finally available for Aussies to download. Hopefully the game will still be able to perform well given the positive reviews floating about; it would be a shame to see a solid WiiWare title go neglected. :( Furthermore, UNO looks to be a very attractive purchase for only 500 Points, especially given the multiplayer features. Imagine the wonders of an Aussie-Nintendo Wi-Fi Night with everyone communicating via Wii Speak, shouting "DRAW FOUR! SUFFFFFER!" for hours on end.
![]() A solid week from Nintendo on the digital content front; consider myself quite pleased. :) |
