While the second
Professor Layton game has only recently hit Australia, the fourth game launches in Japan tomorrow. Level-5 held a special launch event today, going ahead with an
announcement of the fifth (!) title -
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
The adventure is set in Casino City, a place that exists thanks to the 'Miracle Mask'. Whoever wears the mask will have their wishes granted, but it's also linked to a series of mysterious incidents, naturally.
The gameplay system is said to receive some 'major' changes, but Level-5 didn't go into any details about it. Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino has also mentioned a second movie is on the cards, and that the series has sold 7.9 million copies worldwide. Impressive!
Nintendo and Level-5 will also be running a promotion with McDonald's in Japan, where customers can come in with their copies of
Devil's Flute (the fourth game - the one that launches tomorrow) and download some Macca's-exclusive puzzles for a limited amount of time.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world can just sit around and hope the third game gets localised before this time next year.
