[Wii] New Super Mario Bros. Wii

A new side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. game is headed to the Wii, this time with a heavy focus on multiplayer. Three others can tag along as Mario, Luigi and two Toad's for competitive and cooperative play.

New to the series is the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with a shake of the Wii Remote. Mario can also transform into a penguin. At the end of each stage, everyone is ranked on their score, coins collected and number of enemies defeated.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is due out at the end of this year.

Finnaly a new "old school" mario. hopefully the multi doesnt make it unplayable as a single player though. if they can keep the simple "feel" it will be brilliant

I really hope multiplayer is done really well. I'm loving the look of some of the stages too.

I could never imagine a Mario game multiplayer like this. It's like a dream.

I was skeptical that they would release a 2D sidescroller and not a 3D Mario game.

Now that we got both! Im psyched for this too! Co-op is always tonnes of fun, and online co-op would be amazing too!

Looks pretty good I must admit. I hope it keeps physics and things like SMB rather than the DS one. Those physics, triple jumps, wall jumps and so forth tended to mak the game very easy.

I had a feeling it would be coming to Wii.

I never really seemed to get into New Super Mario Bros. DS.

But this one looks like it could be good and kind of reminds me of one of my old favs SMB3.

It's good to see co-op in this. Be quite interesting how me and my bro would play.

I hope it doesn't rely on motion sensors. That wouldn't work out I think.
This looks like it needs that more traditional style.

This was Mario's year. Next year i'm thinking Zelda, FE, hopefully F-zero, and some more wii gimmicks.

So I'm the only one who hates the look of the multiplayer in this game?

Also the propeller suit? bring back the Raccoon Tail!!!

My only hope is that the single player is not ruined so as to force people to play multi. (2 people might be alright but 4 looks too much like a party game)

I'm hoping I will enjoy this but so far it looks like it is too different from the other SMB games.
