Default DSi Virtual Arcade

Hi all!
Does anyone know if Nintendo were ever planning to do a virtual console for the DSi??

You're talking about being able to download Gameboy Color games, right? Yeah, I'm hoping Nintendo brings out something like that. Wouldn't be too sure about GBA games though, since they're only the immediate previous generation.

GoNintendo interviewed Denise Kaigler from NoA a while back - at the time she said there's no plans to bring in a DSi Virtual Console, but that could be a smokescreen too.

Hope it does happen though, however unlikely it seems.

Maybe their next model of DS might implement a GB cartridge slot? That'd be their best excuse for no VC on the DSi.

That's extremely unlikely, though. Perhaps they could make GB and GBA games available on the Wii's VC?

That might work because do you remember the model of gamecube that let you insert GBA games into it and you could play them on the telly? And they wouldnt do a new slot because people want things thin these days

wut

Yeah, it's pretty obvious they wouldn't do a GB/GBA slot, actually. If they did it'd be mostly for the sake of DSi owners wanting to play these old games as new experiences, and putting in the effort of having to hunt down a cartridge wouldn't be worth it.

Just hoping they add the old handhelds to the VC.

It all depends on what those things are. =P

Yeah, i'm still happy using my Game Boy Color to play all of my old Game Boy games. My only problem with the physical format is that their internal batteries dick out after a while, which drives me insane!

But yeah, if you're desperate to play some of the games of Nintendo's most awesome format ever, just get a GBA and you can play everything.
