Default Hatsune Miku and Idolm@ster costumes in Tales of Graces

Shown in this week's issue of Famitsu, Namco Bandai's Tales of Graces will allow players to dress the female cast up as Hatsune Miku or Idolm@ster characters (even that one with the penis). Naturally the costumes aren't free, costing an additional 400 Wii Points each. Wow.

This isn't the first time a Tales of game has featured some completely left field DLC, the PlayStation 3 version of Tales of Vesperia had a Sgt. Frog costume. Still, they've got a long way to go if they want to match the crossover insanity of SEGA's recent Phantasy Star games, which have featured everything from Fanta to Evangelion. Even Samus' arm cannon and a warp pipe show up in the DS version (video).

I think the next 4-5 months will be pivotal to see if we ever get an english localisation.
I'm not the sort who would pay money for costumes, but obviously there are quite a few who are.

Here's hoping that this may give rise to other interesting forms of DLC. However I think Namdai will have to tread carefully as the Grade Shop in previous Tales games have already provided us with similar incentives. Fans of the series might not be so quick to purchase if everything becomes DLC.

I wonder if they designed the characters like that on purpose just so that they can have those costumes. I prefer Kagamine Rin over Hatsune Miku so I may have been more interested if they had a costume of her.
