Default Games for Netbooks

Hey guys, I'm looking for downloadable games for netbooks, mainly to fit on the 10" screen. It's for my girlfriend and she is a bit casualish, likes point and click and The Sims etc, and Banjo Tooie and stuff like Judith and Majesty of Colours, the former being a story based, gameplay lite indie game (which I'd like to find more like this too...)

I'll find the model/specs soon but yeah, any ideas? I've found: http://www.netbookgamer.com/ which is kinda helpful but it doesn't show me resolution size or whatever for games, so.

Cheers in advance

edit: her netbook specs.

At the moment my brother and sister (neither play non-tetris games much) are both hooked on Plants VS Zombies by PopCap.

For netbooks most older games run fine, stuff like Lemmings is great. I've recently dug up the old Window 95 game Pipe Dream which is surprisingly addictive.

Apart from that I'd maybe suggest Harvest Moon for SNES, just make shortcuts (with icons if you can) that load the game directly to keep things simple for her.

But yeah suggestions would be great as I'm trying to build a collection of small timekillers. (and games my PC will actually run)

Majesty of Colours is an amazing game, excellent gameplay. You could try The Continuity Game or anything from Popcap (don't know about resolution, but they should be ok, I reccomend Zuma, Plants vs Zombies and Peggle). I'll tell you more as I think of them.

EDIT: DAMMIT TSP, Beat me with the Popcap stuff.

Thanks guys, I was looking at Peggle actually. :)

Yeah she was just asking me about Project 64 which she found by herself, she wants to play Banjo Kazooie though she'd be using the keys. Anyone know of an easy way to install/use PS3 controllers with PJ64?.

Harvest Moon is a good idea, I love that game, unsure if she'll need desktop icons etc, she's quite savvy. Totally going to try and find Lemmings too. Currently browsing a bunch of indie games through google but its expectedly hit and miss.

I'll be watching this thread for any little timekillers that pop up.

I found this a while ago and it amused me for a good 20 min http://www.questfortherest.com/ (it's really quite beautiful), other than that the only other flash based games I play are on www.casualcollective.com, It's a neat little site with stat tracking aimed at both the casual and more experienced game players

Trackmania Nations Forever might run on that netbook too, It's free and very addictive. I'll add some more if I remember them.

ps3 controllers use bluetooth right? if so you could use a bluetooth adapter to connect the controller to the computer (im sure someone out there knows enough more than me to tell you exactly how) and then you just tweak the button setup in pj64 (360 controllers work well enough after adjusting stick sensitivity to about 30%, so i'd imagine ps3 controllers would work fine with a little work).

don't forget audiosurf! so simple yet so epic.

PS3 controllers only work connected via USB because Sony implemented the Bluetooth in a non-standard way (Sony break standards!? Never!). 360 controllers are pretty simple to get working, but require a rare-ish adapter to get the wireless ones working. Wii controllers take a bit of setting up, but connect to standard Bluetooth without any fancy hardware.

All I have on my netbook that I regularly play is Wolfenstein 3D. I also have the ol Fallout games installed too, but I never really played them since I can't stand gaming with track pads. Now that I actually have a wireless mouse, I should really consider playing those games again.

I have Knytt thanks :)

Have you played Don't Look Back, Aladdin/anyone? Though all of Terry's games are good, and most explore storytelling in different ways (see: Judith), this one has a bit more gameplay to it and is a nice challenge. Pretty short too so.

Where can I get the original Secret of Monkey Island? Should I role play for a bit before I get the game so I can role play some more once I've gotten the game? Yeargh?! Unless the Special Edition can be played in 640x480 or similar...

Will try World of Goo despite track pad, I did most of it okay on this laptop so shouldn't be too bad on a netbook, if the screen size isn't too small.

I don't think you can get the original Monkey Island thesedays without pirating it via P2P and the like. Special edition is 10 bucks off Steam and should run well on a netbook.

I don't know how to connect the ps3 controller to the computer, but I do know a very good program to configure the controllers.

Xpadder, I don't use it for a ps3 control, but I do use it for a Xbox controller, but it does both very well.

Heres the link: http://xpadder.com/

A good way to download it is through torrent.
