Disaster joins Nintendo's Australian Q4 lineup

Posted 14th of October, 2008 at 06:27 pm by Will Will is offline

Despite no official announcement, website updates by Nintendo Australia today have explained how the company's fourth quarter lineup is shaping up. Disaster: Day of Crisis has joined the collection, and that will be released on November 13 alongside Wii Music.

Joining those two on November 13 will be both Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and KORG DS-10 Synthesizer on the Nintendo DS, and Kirby Super Star Ultra will follow on November 27. This Thursday will see the release of Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir.

Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City and the Wii Speak microphone + Wii Speak Channel are still scheduled to launch before the year's out as well, and they seem to be eying a December 4 release date. Expect Nintendo's official word soon.

i dont actually think Diaster will seel that well at all. in australia atleast. no advertising what so ever, by nintendo, and 3rd party dealers like jb and eb.

pokemon will sell, just cause its pokemon. people still buy the same crap over and over based on a name.

wii music will see lthe best of the 3. it has plenty of advertising, and its music. if it sells anything like wii fit, it will be the number 1 game of the summer. and yes, i am including GH4 and Rock Band in that too...

but back onto diaster. it has no hype at all. sure, people that frequently visit gaming sites will know if it, but thats not nintendo's market. they rely on people saying "look mummy, theres a wii music game. how cool would it be to use my wii-mote to conduct a band and play drums and guitar"

kids dont say "look mummy, theres a game about the day the world ends. can i have it". this is nintendos thinking, and you may not like it, but it works. and it works very very well. hardcore games on the wii will never sell very well.

Probably not. Not even the advertised, budget priced Wario Land has managed to crack the sales charts here. If this were called 'Dr. Kawashima's Disaster in Minutes a Day' or 'Singstar: Disaster' it'd be an instant success!

ROFL! So true.

I might give Pokemon a miss, dunno just yet, but definately looking forward to Kirby. I never had a SNES, I started on Nintendo with the N64. Still waiting to hear about Mario Sluggers Wii, though.....

I think you are getting a tad confused. It'll be Disaster left all alone on shelves and all the Pokemon and Wii Music will get taken home.

To be fair Wario Land was actually reasonably priced in most stores and it had many posters in almost every store I went to that sells games.

Wonder if I can get this as an x-mas present.

I wanted DAO since I first saw it and at that point decided I would get it no matter how it turned out. I intend on following that threw (and it didn't turn out to bad after all).

Couple Disaster with Fire Emblem DS and I might just have enough new software on my want list to shut me up about not having anything new to play during the 08 holiday season.
