Contra Rebirth for WiiWare

Posted 8th of May, 2009 at 07:00 pm by Infernal Monkey Infernal Monkey is online now

Following Gradius Rebirth, Konami has revealed the next entry in their 'Rebirth' series. Contra Rebirth is essentially a direct follow-up to Contra III: The Alien Wars on the Super Nintendo (or Super Probotector: Alien Rebels as it was known over here).

The title has been developed internally, WayForward (Contra 4) had nothing to do with this one. It's due to hit the Japanese WiiWare service next week for 1000 Nintendo Points. Don't hold your breath for a PAL release, considering Konami still hasn't bothered to release Gradius Rebirth (or Contra 4, for that matter). A trademark for Salamander Rebirth has also been registered.

I blame Megaman 9. Not that this is a bad thing anyway.

Because updated versions of old games and franchises weren't appearing on digital download systems before that.

If you've seen how bad 3D Contra looks this is a great thing. Still it'd be neat to have real fire effects, maybe?

Wow, that's pretty awesome! Me being the Contra fan that I am, i'll probably buy it. Contra 4 was an awesome game, so if this can be as good as that, i'll be quite happy.

Lon Lon Rancher is obviously a noob. xD I can get through Probotector III in about 10-15 minutes usually on medium with one continue. Hard is where it's at! Playing some hard difficulty Probotector III with mates around is one of the most fun things ever!

Now I feel like playing all of my Probotector and Contra games again, lol. =P
