New Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver details

With certain pages from this months CoroCoro magazine leaked days early, new details have emerged concerning the recently revealed Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver Versions.

A new female protagonist will be introduced into the games rather then Kris/Marina from Pokemon Crystal making an appearance. Gold however will be making a comeback (as previously revealed) and has been given a new modern look which has replaced his previous outdated nineties style. The heroes are both equipped with the new look PokeGear which may be incorporated into the DS touch screen.



A "Pikachu Coloured Pichu" (Shiny Pichu) which is to be distributed by Nintendo will unlock an in-game event which takes place in the Ilex Forest.

Finally Nintendo America yesterday trademarked "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver" confirming the names will be used on the English versions of the games.

Damn. We are getting Heart Gold/soul silver. Dusk Gold and Dawn silver sounded so much better,
Oh well. Yeah the female one does look like crap. Gold looks cool. I hope u do get to ride a skate board. Perhaps the Pichu will let u catch Celebi. And I hope we can trade Sinnoh pokemon to this game.

Why wouldn't you be able to trade Gen 4? You'll have to unlock the feature though, like every other Pokemon game in the series.

What is wrong with you people? ;-; Gold's old clothes/shoes/etc were so much more awesome. I was a bit disappointed when I saw these scans this morning..

At least they didn't change his hair/hat or I'd hafta rage. xD 'Cause those alone still ensure his awesomness.

New female looks a bit of a bumpkin though...woulda preferred a redesigned Crystal if anything. Oh well. I'm not a girl, so no worries. xP

Lol a little late on the update Lucario. I knew about this since roughly 11 o clock yesterday :P

I wish that gold still had his old cloths, they looked so cool, I liked his completely non matching red jumper with the yellow and black pants.

If you guys want new images of some of the gold and silver pokemon go to pokebeach.com they have a few more pages of corocoro with new images.

The old female design wasn't much to my fancy, while the new one just looks quirky. I'm okay with the Gold redesign though.

Updated look is nice, but i like his hip, cool 90's look, still character retains most of it, so i will turn a blind eye, still, hoodie would be much appreciated.

I'll be booting up my action replay to unlock whatever event Japan doesn't distribute to Australia =)

.. assuming this is going to be a DS title. If it's a DSi title then I'll rage.

I think as well as buying Gold, I'd be hacking a rom to make all 493 catchable like I did with diamond XD. and hack unattainables, cause they're ridiculous to get now D:.

sweet gold / sivelr were the best versions the only game that were an improvement on red /blue all other versions after are inferior

She is around way to much with the Anime and games etc. These new games don't need dawn they need this new female character so its good they do have a new one

3/4 pants that have an elastic bottom are a Modern look? Its a pretty inferior getup.


Of all the characters in Pokemon Krys was among the most uninspired so not a huge loss. The new girl is a bit of an odd egg, weird hat with bow, overalls, thigh-highs (sorta).

I will never forgive Nintendo for this tragedy!.....Krystal was awesome, I've always wanted to see her in more anime episodes, specials, movies, etc. This new one, imo, is butt ugly!.....Although, I remember when I first saw Dawn, I thought she looked weird, but now she's one of my fav characters in the anime. xD

This is indeed what I call a lie. The tight bottoms look horrible and the old coat is so much more awesome without the whole black stripes crap. Stupid modern Japanese looks. D=

To be honest, I don't mind the new look for Gold. His old one was awesome, and this redesign doesn't really screw it up too much. He's still got his backwards cap and hairstyle which is really what counts. =P

The new girl is slightly odd, the hat standing out the most. Also has a Mario sort of look to her outfit. I'll get used to it.

Still, at the end of the day it's Gold/Silver. And as such, it will be awesome!

I don't think the female's out-fit isn't that bad. Yes, it's silly but the characters aren't in that much detail so I don't think it'll look that bad. Anyways, so waiting for this!

Looking ford to this game for sure. heart gold is my choice
