Goku coming to Wii, Power Pole and Nimbus in tow

When it comes to videogames, Dragon Ball Z has proven to be a largely successful cash cow that is milked roughly once a year, producing games of adequate quality to keep the large fanbase happy. Unfortunately, the (superior) original series, Dragon Ball, has been largely overlooked in recent times, save for the fantastic Dragon Ball Advance Adventure on Gameboy Advance, and the serviceable Dragon Ball: Origins on DS, in favour of Goku's bulky, blonde, screaming, adult adventures.


Now, French site Wiiz reports that a Japanese magazine scan reveals that the younger Goku will be fighting his way onto Nintendo's Wii in a new 2D/3D sidescrolling adventure, seemingly set within the timeframe of the anime and manga's Red Ribbon storyline through to one of the two Piccolo arcs.

Awesome. I always preferred the original series. The only real problem is how limiting the scope of the game is. I would have preferred something that encompasses all of the series, and perhaps could have been released over 2 games (Like perhaps the Mega Man X/Zero series). Starting where they did sort of makes it seem like this wont be the case.

This is possibly Origins sequel as it follows from the point where that ended.

Also the game looks awesome.

I'm intrigued. :o Loved Dragon Ball.

Really should get the DS one sometime..enjoyed the demo.
