Speaking with Siliconera, Yoshiro Kimura, producer of Little King's Story has mentioned a sequel is in the cards.
"We are planning to make a sequel to Little King’s Story, like 'Super Little King’s Story', but we’re still in the process idea phase,” he said. You know, the whole 'Super' thing really does need to make a comeback. Whack a '64' on the end while you're at it and you're good to go!
Developed by Cing and Town Factory, Little King's Story is a surprisingly charming strategy title with a hell of a lot of depth. It's $35 at Target right now, by the way. This news post was brought to you by Fishy Joe's Extreme Walrus Juice - 'ride the walrus'.

I still have to find this, my local target was sold out or didn't have any stock to begin with which seems more likely.

Nice! Can't wait to see what ideas they come up with for the sequel, as I love the first one. I feel like I've done so little in the game and I've put 9 hours into it, haha.

With strong praise from both mainstream media and dedicated gaming press, it's not too surprising that a sequel is on the cards. The original game is a brilliant gem with an engrossing world, simplistic concepts, and genuinely fun; a rarity amongst today's market. Should the core style and quality of Little King's Story be retained in combination with addressing many of the original's flaws and offering something to justify the purchase, then I would be all for Yoshiro Kimura proceeding down this path. :)
Surely you can do better than that, Infernal. Something like Wii Super Little King's Story 64DS sounds much more fitting. With "Wii" in the front of the title, it will cause the hardcore to become severely enraged at the title for no good reason, and with a Super Little king as the protagonist, the possibilities for a Pikmin fusion are endless. Furthermore, it will be guaranteed availability on the 64DS, the successor to the amazingly popular 64DD! :O

lol Fishy Joes.
This is fantastic news. I bought the game last night (At Target, and uhi, there was about seven copies left. At least.) and I'm enjoying it a lot.
And you're right, the "Super" thing does need a come back.
