Michael Jackson set to moonwalk on the VC

UK ratings board PEGI has revealed that SEGA's planning to bring Michael Jackson's Moonwalker to the Virtual Console. It'll more than likely be the Mega Drive version, as that's the one everyone's familiar with. It'd be nice to see them put up the arcade Moonwalker (completely different from the Mega Drive and Master System game) while they're at it.

The MD one has you finding children around each stage, kicking people with magic, spinning around in circles, dancing with enemies until they explode and turning into a giant robot that shoots lasers. You know, the typical platforming affair.

It's muuuuuch more focused on action, less having to fart around looking for kids, more punching everything. Also had co-op!

Moonwalker was the first game I got for my Master System. I will buy this influenced by the sheer power of nostalgia, play it for five minutes, throw up, then carry on with the new Lost Winds.

I never really got the hype for this game, to be honest. Whether it was so obscure, had MJ in it, or was just fun to play... I dunno.

Great news for fans of the game, though.

Yeah this game was pretty fun and quite well presented also pretty funny for what I can remember. I'm not even a fan of old MJ. Might pick it up one day.

Infernal's covered it but in summary it's pretty much an improvement in every important aspect.

There used to be a Moonwalker cabinet set up at my local basketball team's gym and a friend and I used to scam free games off it...good times!

Hell yes!

Believe it or not, this game is actually one of the reasons I even started liking MJ in the first place... will definately be getting my hands on this.

"Used to" is such a sad phrase when talking about arcade cabinets.

Hopefully this'll cause the actual MD version to go back to being cheap again.

I remember awhile back I could have bought the game for $1 or something complete with manual and case.

The arcade version of Moonwalker is awesome. The others, not so much.

I've got it on Master System and it's not bad, but it's more an interesting novelty than a genuinely exciting game.

Actually it's little girls. When you find them they say "MICHAEL!" I used to always laugh at the beginning of every level when It has Michael Jackson's face saying "OOOW!"

Anyway the MD version was fairly mediocre :P
