The what? Started up by Technos (of Double Dragon fame) in the late 80's, the Kunio-Kun video game franchise has had a pretty mind boggling history, with over 30 titles spread across various platforms. Not many ever got localised, but you may be familiar with the few that did.
River City Ransom (Street Gangs in PAL regions), Super Dodgeball, Nintendo World Cup, Crash 'n the Boys? They were all part of the Kunio-Kun series. The DS was graced with Super Dodgeball Brawlers last year, and now Arc System Works has announced Kunio Ultra Hot-Blooded! Big Athletic Meet, to launch in Japan early next year.
The game is basically a big high school competition, with track and field events, cross country, swimming, hockey, soccer and an obstacle course. Naturally, players are encouraged to beat the shit out of their opponents - as that's pretty much what the whole franchise is based upon.
There's no doubt the game will eventually see an American release (by Aksys Games). As for Australia... eh, best be prepared to import.
