The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed Estpolis: The Lands cursed by the Gods - a DS remake of the Super Nintendo's Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. But wait! Lufia II was released in Australia as just plain Lufia back in 1997, as we never got the first one. Confused? Excellent.
It's okay though, because Lufia II (Lufia) was actually a prequel to the first Lufia game (not the Australian Lufia - that was the prequel sequel). No, no, the American Lufia, the one called Lufia & The Fortress of Doom. Then if you factor in your shoe size and spill custard down the stairs, you've got yourself a baby raptor. Oh my yes, Taito sure had fun with Lufia back in the day.
So now it's headed to the DS. The remake's developed by Neverland, who were responsible for the original Super Nintendo games along with the more recent Rune Factory series. It'll feature 3D graphics and voice acting. The battle system has also completely changed, from an encounter-based deal to full on action. Estpolis: The Lands cursed by the Gods (Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals [Lufia]) launches in Japan next February. I'm sure Square Enix will localise it one day. The world will end the instant it launches in Australia.
