Aussie-Nintendo is going to help you, our fantastic community, get in the Christmas spirit by offering you free Wii Points to use on whatever you want! Ho-ho-ho-hold it right there though, we don't just give out these delicious Wii points for nothing (we're not that generous). We have twelve separate competitions for you to win, with ten of them rewarding the winner 500 points, and the last big two competitions earning the winner 1,000 points. These are the twelve days of the A-N X-mas, and we hope you deliver some whopping entries in. Yep, we got ~~ocean~~ Christmas madness!

- Day One: Create a Nintendo themed Christmas banner for the site - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 12th

- Day Two : Random act of kindness! Simply post a comment on this here competition to go in the draw. A person's name will be randomly selected and they'll have themselves something to randomly get joyous about! Random!- Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 13th

- Day Three : Create a Christmassy avatar to spread the joy! - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 14th

- Day Four: Create a Christmassy signature to spread the joy a little thicker! Please enter in this thread. - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 15th

- Day Five: Design your own Nintendo-themed Christmas card - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 16th

- Day Six: Design your own Santa's workshop - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 17th

- Day Seven: In 40 words or less, which Nintendo character would you invite over for Christmas and why? - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 18th

- Day Eight: In 40 words or less, which Nintendo character wouldn't you invite over for Christmas and why? - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 19th

- Day Nine : Christmasify an everyday object and send us the proof (for example, put a Christmas hat on a potato! How ridiculous!) - Prize: 500 point game - Due: December 20th

- Day Ten: Name 10 threads on A-N where you'll find a Santa-ish Delibird and his Reindeer-ish Stantlers on one of the the first three pages (A Delibird and nine Stantlers will appear in threads on this Day, with threads set to 40 posts per page) - prize: 500 point game - Due: December 21st

- Day Eleven: Re-write lyrics to a classic Christmas carol to make it about a Nintendo game of your choice. Bonus points if you record it - Prize: 1,000 point game - due December 22nd

- Day Twelve: Take a photo of your very own Nintendo-themed christmas tree - prize: 1.000 point game - Due: December 23rd

And by 'due' we mean 'all entries due by11:59pm of due date'. So, the entrants of Day One must get their entries in by midnight December 12th and a winner will be announced December 13th. Got it? No? Re-read that sentence and come back to me. PM all entries to me with 'A-N X-Mas Day One/Two/etc,' in the topic title. And remember, if you want to ensure your success in winning yourself some Wii points, leave some biscuits and milk outside your house for me and the rest of the staff. We're starving to death! Joy!

SMALL TEXT
- Competition is open to Australian residents only
- Thanks to the Aussie-Nintendo staff for providing the prizes!
- Enter as many entries as you like, however contestants can only win a maximum of one 500 point prize and one 1,000 point prize

Perhaps just use the banner template for the old site. The font is the same, so it should do the job.

We're going with a bit of both; any entries posted in the forthcoming thread should be within these limits, but if you're going to only post your entry in the thread and not actually use it, then a little more lenience will be given. Hopefully that makes sense. The thread will go up in under a weeks time.

After being informed by Dave that current entries for A-N's Christmas special have been exceedingly low, I will do my best to send in some of my own (uninspired) creations. Being broke should serve sufficient motivation for free Wii Points. :P

Perhaps this promotion should be brought back to the main page, as it has been completely bumped off by other features and reviews. It's quite possible that these events were in the back of peoples minds and simply forgot about them.

I agree with Toadsiliwraith that this needs to be brought and remained on the front page.

Considering that only Australian residents are allowed to enter, the more exposure that this creative competition gets, the more entries and reminders users will get when visiting the site.

1/71 chance (minus numerous posts from single users) is not too bad for the random comp - much better odds than the NSMB Coin Hunt events anyway - never mind that the prizes are different; winning a comp near Christmas has it's own fuzzy warm feeling.
