Posted 5th of January, 2010 at 09:57 pm by Infernal Monkey Infernal Monkey is online now

Capcom and Nintendo are teaming up for the launch of Monster Hunter Tri in PAL regions. Nintendo Europe and Australia are in charge of distribution and marketing, while Capcom's doing their part by sitting around on the lounge all day, drinking beer, eating Doritos and causing an ant infestation.

"Nintendo has identified Monster Hunter Tri as a key title for the Wii platform in 2010," stated Michael Pattison, Senior Director Marketing, Capcom Europe, "We are really excited about partnering with Nintendo to further develop this franchise."

Laurent Fischer, Managing Director, Marketing & PR, Nintendo of Europe, commented "Monster Hunter has a huge and passionate following in Japan and we are looking forward to introducing the Monster Hunter Tri to a whole new audience in Europe as the series makes its first appearance on the Wii."

Monster Hunter Tri launches in April. Details regarding the online service (if we'll have a pay a monthly fee like Japan, that sort of thing) are still unknown.

So the only positive thing to come out of this would be Club Nintendo Invitations?

I heard that the online feature of the English versions of the game will be free to appeal to a more western audience.

Bleh, Nintendo can't advertise so I don't see what good this does.

Well, the only good news here is now I know the release date. Almost forgot about this one, maybe I should just start hoarding now...

And free online would be nice. Paying to play a game I own is silly. So I probably wouldn't.

Although I have been playing MH Freedom Unite recently, and it's hard. Kinda. Ah screw it, I'll still buy this. xD

Lets hope Nintendo does their job and advertises the game. I'd like a big online community with this.

This game will fail. Commercially and a little critically.

You're paying for companies to host servers. I'm fine with those costs.

For a game like MH3 the state of online seen in other Wii games simply wouldn't be acceptable. So I can understand charging a bit, but it can't cost like $15/mo. That is just too much.

As soon as I read the title, I shuddered, thinking 'oh dear, MH3 is doomed now, doomed!'

'causing an ant infestation', ah Lance, you're just as funny as Infernal, nice work mate.

Darn, you should have taken advantage of those who had not realised - and staged that Infernal went on vacation.

Seeing Capcom's recent stance against gamers games on the Wii, this will be somewhat of a swan song for Capcom's Wii efforts. All the more reason to purchase and support it I guess.

I hope we don't get a monthly fee. I'm not paying extra for a game that I find rather boring but my friend really likes and wants me to buy it so we can play online together.

Also lol at Lance's avatar. Chef Excellence! I take it you watch Ashens?
