This week's set to be a big one for Nintendo, as they're having a bunch of different press conferences in a whole bunch of different territories to announce what the latest is. While we're still waiting for the American one to happen, the Australian just wrapped up now - and thanks to ONM Australia editor Mark Serrels, he tweeted just about everything major to come out of the conference.
For starters, let's get the hardware announcements out of the way. Nintendo confirmed they'll be shipping the Black Wii down here, to go along with all the black Wii-motes and what not you can pick up now. Expect to pick up a Black Wii from the 11th of March - there was nothing on pricing, but there shouldn't be anything different from regular pricing. As well as that, the DSi XL was also confirmed for a local release, with the only colours available at launch to be Burgundy and Bronze. Expect to pick up one of those from the 15th of April. Again, no word on pricing.
Software wise, the only big announcement came in the form that Nintendo are not only publishing Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri down here, but they're doing a lot to ensure it gets a wide audience. For starters, they'll be pushing a big TV campaign behind it. No word if Nintendo are roping in Delta Goodrem or Olivia Newton John to sell the game, which would be amazing. As well as that, they'll be releasing the game in two packs - Standalone and bundled with a Classic Controller Pro, the improved version of the Classic Controller. Both will hit for a RRP of $99.95, with no announcement of a date.
...And that's about it really. No footage of Metroid Other M was shown, because that'll be seen at the American conference, which is a lame move. Still, I guess it was nice to get some news items. Though stay tuned, we should hopefully have more info from the American conference when it happens.

so you can get monster hunter on it's own for $100, or spend another $0 to also get a classic controller pro with it? man that'll be a hard decision for people to make.

DSi XL in April!?!?
That NSMB priacy thing must have really pissed Nintendo Aus off since IIRC Europe is getting it in March, and for the DSi and I think DS Lite we saw earlier/same day releases. Lord knows how long they'll hold back the games if the hardware is getting such treatment ;)

John Farnham should be the mascot head for Monster Hunter. He'll keep saying ''Just one last mission" but before you know it, he'll be farming more loot than the entire fanbase of Japan.
What time is the American press conference in Australian time?
