Minimalist iPhone rhythm game Lilt Line is coming to WiiWare, courtesy of BIT. TRIP studio Gaijin Games. Originally developed by Different Cloth, Lilt Line involves tilting the iPhone to navigate a fast-paced line through a winding tunnel whilst tapping the touch screen in time with the beat.
I imagine the WiiWare version will just have you tilting the Wii Remote in its place. Yep, figured that one out all by myself. The game features 14 levels and a gritty, low-fi dubstep soundtrack by 16bit.
In an interview with Battery Acid, Gaijin Games' Alex Neuse explained why they're bringing it over. "We decided to publish Lilt Line, because I fell in love with the iPhone version of the game and wanted to represent it on the console side. I love minimalism in games, and this game is a perfect example of a crazy minimalist experience that can really get a player going," he said.
"We are hoping to publish more titles (our own, as well as other developers’) – especially the more oddball titles. I love creativity in games, and I want to do whatever I can to help represent creative ventures like Lilt Line". You can see the iPhone version in action below (because really, just posting screenshots would be pointless).
