The highly anticipated WiiWare title Cave Story has finally been rated G by the Australian Classification Board which means the evident release is now ever closer.
Originally a Japanese freeware PC game, it was later translated which expanded its potential audience to English speaking countries. Players take control of a protagonist who awakens in an underground cavern on a floating island with no idea how they got there. The cave is inhabited by rabbit-like creatures who are being kidnapped by an evil doctor. Being the nice person that you are, you chase after the doctor and try to save this weird race whilst also trying to get back home. The game features three possible endings which depend on how you progress through the game, the "good" ending is very difficult to achieve with several action packed boss battles at the end.
There was doubt at one point that the title would make its way outside of the US however Nicalis later confirmed via their Twitter account that Cave Story was in fact on its way with improved audio which was reportedly bugs at times in the US version.

Yes! Not longer now, hopefully.

Good to hear, I guess. All we need now is a release date.
I'd like to get this, but with the Wii console's limited space (yes, I haven't upgraded to the SD card enhanced firmware) it might be difficult to find the space.
Regardless, I've already got this game on my PSP and from what I've played it is definitely worth checking out.

Great game and all, but is it worth it? What are the differences?

@Rawrgasm - Enhanced graphics and sound (although you can switch it back to original if you wish), a 2nd playable character, Boss Rush mode and playing with the Wiimote sideways just feels a lot better than the keyboard.

Wow, didn't know about a 2nd playable character!
Even if they didn't change anything, I'd still buy it. It deserves all my money.
