Wow.

I have a few major problems with your review. Firstly, when you are reviewing a game, you are reviewing a game, not how horrible a port it is. While you mentioned how much you liked the storyline and the DS game, your scores seemed to unfairly compare it to the DS game, to the point where it seems as if you haven't factored the storyline into your review.

Another thing, even though you continually go on about how the DS game is better, the DS game is more expensive. When you're looking at a full game being released on a new console at a budget price, it is obviously going to be inferior.

Also, you continually say the "real" DS game, "buy the real thing for the great DS experience it is", "Case 5 will be available in may for an extra 100 WiiWare points". If you're going to call one edition of a game "real" and imply that another is "not real", I'd check my facts first. You clearly state that it was originally a GBA game at the beginning of the review, but then go on to call the DS version the "real" version for some odd reason. Another qualm I have with your Case 5 statement is that Case 5 was not free with the DS version, as that edition costs much more than the WiiWare edition.

Finally:
"And lets face it, would you really want to look like an idiot, stand up off your couch and yell out Objection"

Yes, yes I would. And I'm sure others would too

I'm going to have to agree with DarkAve here on all of that stuff.

(And for the record: My friends and I wOUld jump up and yell out "OBJECTION!" without caring if we looked like an "idiot" or not. They're bloody Wii games and it wouldn't be much different to playing Wii Sports and any other game that requires you to actually stand up and do silly things, let alone jump up and say OBJECTION!)

I'd say the script and flow of the review also needs some refinement. Some parts, it sounds like you lockup on certain words, take odd pauses, and even advertise a completly unrelated game saying "Get this instead".

Thanks for the advice guys, this is the first time i'm actually doing a review in the "official" style... if you look at my other vids, they are alot different to this.

Good stuff Riz, thank you for your contribution from AN. I can see your reviews being finely tuned by the critique of your audience, and its a pleasure to have people like you on board that are willing to share their time to push AN with new forms of media.

Good stuff.

There's a lot of stuff wrong with this review, but my main gripe is with your problem with motion controls.

Why are you still harping on about the "looking like an idiot by using motion controls" routine, that may have been applicable (although barely) when the Wii was young, but now the Wii is market leader. Wii Sports is the highest selling game of all-time, that wouldn't be the case if people thought you "look like an idiot" by using the controls. And I'm pretty sure doing the Phoenix Wright "OBJECTION" move is awesome, what is wrong with you?

Also I don't see how the music is annoying on Wii and not on DS "because you expect it from the DS". What about the countless VC games from older consoles? Is SMB's music annoying because it's dated? No. That shouldn't be a factor here either.

The only thing that should be a negative with the WiiWare version (over any other version) is that there is no Wii pointer support within menus, which you mentioned but (with your wording) somehow managed to make it sound dumb.

You make some valid points Guise, but at the same time, in no way is PH:WiiWare in the league of WiiSports, and Mario NES is stuff that's outdated and the music is to be expected... Their are plenty of Orchestra's who have composed the Phoenix Wright music and released it to album... it sounds amazing dude... i would have loved to have heard that instead of the "Bleep-Bleep-Bloop" version... but you cant alwas get what you want i guess, thanks for the comment and criticism taken into account mate.

Great setup and style of the review, Riz. If I may add something, it sounds like you're reading off a script. Not that making a script before reviewing is shunned or anything but it actually SOUNDS like you're reading it as you go with all the sudden pauses and such.

A little bit of editing for all those pauses would really boost the professionalism of whole review. For the most part and considering it is one of your first reviews (?), very well done.

It's great to see the amount of professionalism compared to your previous reviews, Riz.
However, I think you got caught up in excitement of reviewing for A-N. You've focused too much on the presentation, although it looks very nice, and not enough on the review.

"Also, instead of using the infrared pointer on the Wii remote, the game menus is instead navigated with the d-pad. It'll become a little annoying as you go because basically you have to navigate the game's menus with the d-pad instead of pointing at the screen"

You've repeated yourself there, and a double check of your review (which you seem to be reading out, as Parasyte pointed out) would've prevented that. I was a bit disappointed to see that you'd ditched the humour we'd seen in the NSMBW review, but I guess that comes with making it more professional. You did try to throw a joke in there about the OBJECTION! thing, but you should do a little research next time (yup, even for jokes =P) to make sure you don't make any false claims.

Even though your reviewing wasn't top notch this time, you'll get better, and the video reviews are a great step forward for A-N!
Looking forward to your next review. =]

Also, change your av/sig man.. lol

It wasn't a point of the motion controls being in the league of Wii Sports, it's more of a if you feel stupid waving around a controller you're probably not going to buy a Wii.

Yeah it's not really a remake though, it's virtually a straight port. With a remake you might be correct in taking issue with outdated audio.

What Dark ave said.

For 'real' Ace Attorney fans, the idea of a PW game on Wii instantly brings excitement at jumping up and down pointing at the screen! Heck, with the DS port I was enjoying it enough shouting into the mic and getting into it! (me and my housemate were freaking out our friends by playing the games in public places with sporadic objections!

Suggestion: If you are gonna speak in such a bogan Aussie accent that almost seeps VB from its very being... please dont say 'dot com' at the end of the review like an american!!! (dot caum)

Guys, critiquing is fine and all, however if you are going to be hacking on his accent I believe that's going a bit too far. You can ask a man to change the way he reviews something, but not the way he sounds, don't be such harper Raven.

In regards to the 'Jumping on the couch and yelling Objection,' it all comes down to personal preference. Some people will, but not everyone will want to. The fact is that he mentioned that you cannot do it. This is spoon fed information, his opinion given afterward is just like any of our opinions here.

Personally I really liked the little A-N introduction thing at the start of the video.

The review itself was a good start but there's definitely plenty of room for improvement as the others have already pointed out. Props to you for taking the time and effort to create A-N's first video review though.

I'm pretty sure that A-N's first video review was done by Aussie, on Boogie. That was waaaaaay back in like 2007, I do believe. =P

Anyway, this is pretty good for your first shot as an official reviewer, man. However, don't be afraid to be a little informal, such as how you are in your other reviews. Look at how awesome Infernal Monkey's reviews turn out to be!

The Ace Attorney series is a great job but I don't think it needs to be on the Wii. The DS is just enough.
